On September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington D.C. and rural Pennsylvania rocked the national consciousness. In New York, as most fled the destruction, police, firemen and emergency workers pushed headlong into its maw, and a brave few followed in their wake carrying cameras. American Photo is proud to present the stories of the photographers that shot the World Trade Center attacks and their aftermath, told in their own words, and accompanied by the stunning images they etched into history that day.

American Photo is honored to provide this app free of charge. In lieu of payment, we and the photographers represented in this story strongly encourage you to make a donation of any size to one of the charities found on the Donate page in the app.
